Why climb at CLIFFHANGER

Cliffhanger has been designed to offer the most variety of climbing wall surfaces of any gym in Australia, and quite probably the world - and that's in addition to our 20mts of vertical height that you won't find anywhere else in Australia.

Many climbing gyms use 1 wall surface/coating for their whole gym, whether it be for aesthetic reasons or cost. At Cliffhanger, we have selected a variety of climbing surfaces specifically for their individual advantages, to ensure you don't get bored.

 

We offer the following climbing wall surfaces from around the world:

  • EntréPrisés 'IMPRINT'™ Panels (injected moulded resin, to exactly replicate Limestone): imported from France. This wall is reconfigurable. Fully lead climbable.

  • AME fibreglass Panel Wall (created to replicate sandstone cliffs): made at Natimuk, Australia. This wall is reconfigurable. Fully lead climbable.

  • RadWall™ Bouldering Cave (simulated stone rendered finish): Originally from the USA, the beauty of RadWall is it's angle changes, seamless finish and rock-like featuring - perfect for a bouldering area.

  • Textured Plywood Walls: we have a variety of coating systems, applied based on wall shape and desired climbing finish. These include Epoxy Coatings, Acrylic Coatings and our own MultiTex® finish. Many of these walls also have fibreglass tailor made arête sculpting and featuring. Many are lead climbable.

  • Outdoor AME fibreglass Panel Wall (created to replicate sandstone cliffs): made at Natimuk, Australia. This wall is located in our outdoor courtyard area and is also reconfigurable. Fully lead climbable.

  • EntréPrisés 'HEX TILE'™ Panels (Created to replicate fine grit stone and granite cracks): Imported from France. These tiles are reconfigurable and purely use features, no coloured bolt on holds! One of our most popular walls.

In addition to walls, it's really important to have a huge variety of features that can be attached and removed from climbing walls, so that our walls are continually changing. We utilise the following:

In addition to these features and insets, we also have over 10,000 movable climbing holds from all around the world - variety is the essence of good route setting in a gym.

In addition to world class climbing walls, we also offer a massive variety of training aids to keep you 'climbing fit'. Some of these are:
