Cliffhanger Climbing Gym operates with a staff of approximately 20 to 25 casuals at any given time. Our staffing demands are somewhat seasonal based around Melbourne's unpredictable weather.

Cliffhanger is an equal opportunity employer and our staff age in range from 15 years of age to 50 years of age and usually have roughly the same number of female and male instructors working for us at any given time.

Cliffhanger is a fun and exciting place to work, and as such, although our workforce is casual, we have a very low turnover with most of the staff having been with us for a long time.

Due to the amount of training we give to the employee, and the strict safety nature of what we do, we are UNABLE to employ people for short term jobs or 'Christmas/Holiday Jobs'.

People applying for work at Cliffhanger should note our long trading hours, which means you may be required to work nights and will definitely be required to work at least ONE weekend per month, if not more.

People considering applying for work at Cliffhanger should make sure they meet the following requirements before applying :

  • Have reliable transport (given the safety basis of our business, you CANNOT be late for work!)
  • Be available to work a MINIMUM of ONE (1) weekend per month
  • Be well groomed
  • Be reliable
  • Have a strong safety focus
  • Have a basic understanding of climbing safety and principles
  • Have a minimum Level 2 OH&S First Aid qualification. (not required for Juniors)
