Scouts

Cliffhanger welcomes group visits by Scouts and Guides. Scout leaders should investigate with their District as to what age Scouts are allowed to attend activities such as rock climbing, since the merger of cubs and scouts, this has become an issue, as cubs were/are not permitted to participate in "dangerous activities", this should be checked to ensure Scout Leaders are covered under Scouting Guidelines and Insurances.

The standard group rates for 2 hour evening and weekend Groups (a minimum of 10 participants is required) is:

2 hours (Instruction and Harness Hire) - $17.00 per person

This rate requires 1 adult per 6 scouts if they are 14 years or under, to assist and belay

Cliffhanger does not prohibit younger children from climbing, but we do require additional parents and leaders to attend when the participants are under the age of 14 otherwise we have to provide additional instructors and subsequently charge you more. The following ratios of leaders/parents to scouts apply:

To take advantage of our Group Discount Rates, please ensure you provide the following ratio of leaders/parents to assist us in belaying smaller participants:

Age Range - under 14 years Number of Leaders/Parents Attending 1:6
Age Range - over 14 years Number of Leaders/Parents Attending 1:10

Where a 1:6 ratio cannot be provided by the troop, the price for those under 14 years of age is $19 (as opposed to $17)

Please note that Scouting Guidelines may in fact be more stringent than this and leaders should verify current ratios with their Branch, before attending the activity. i.e. 10 year olds doing their 'link' badge may not be allowed under current Scouts Australia guidelines.

ALL particpants are required to complete Individual Waiver Forms. Those under 18 years MUST have their Parent Sign the Waiver Form before they can climb. Older Siblings, Scout Leaders and relatives ARE NOT PERMITTED TO SIGN. Waivers can be downloaded from the forms area.
