Youth & Social Groups

Cliffhanger welcomes group visits by Clubs, Social Groups and Council Organisations. We have a requirement for a group to have at least 10 participants and that the participants all be 14 years of age or older*. We offer "Off-Peak" and "Peak" Rates depending on when you wish to attend and Group Bookings are for a 2 hour session. Start and finish times are strict, so that we are able to provide a safe climbing environment. Unfortunately, groups that arrive late, will still have to conclude at the booked time.

Off Peak Rates (Weekdays before 5:30 pm)
2 hours (Instruction and Harness Hire) - $12.00 per person
2 hours (instruction, Harness Hire and Climbing Shoe Hire) - $15.00 per person

Peak Rates (Weeknights after 5:30 pm and all weekend and Public Holidays)
2 hours (Instruction and Harness Hire) - $15.00 per person
2 hours (instruction, Harness Hire and Climbing Shoe Hire) - $19.00 per person

Cliffhanger does not prohibit younger children from climbing, but we do require additional parents and leaders to attend when the participants are under the age of 14 otherwise we have to provide additional instructors and subsequently charge you more. The following ratios of leaders/parents to participants apply:

Age Range - under 14 Years requires a ratio of 1:5 leaders/parents to child

Age Range - over 14 Years requires a ratio of 1:20 leaders/parents to child

If the group is unable to provide this ratio, then our rate of $17 will apply to children under 14 years of age, instead of $15 p/p.

Bookings are essential, and must be made in writing using our Group Booking Form.

Alternatively, please call and make a tentative group booking and we will fax you a booking form.
