Outdoor Equipment Hire
Are you heading to the rock, snow or ice?
Need some technical gear but don't wont to buy it for 1 trip?
We hire out a range of NON LIFE SUPPORT climbing gear. By 'non life support' we mean that we do NOT hire out harnesses, ropes or webbing.
We DO hire Rock Shoes, Helmets, Crampons and Ice Axes.

* Weekend Rate: Hire Gear can be picked up Friday Afternoon (between 12:00 noon up to 10pm) and returned Monday afternoon (between 12:00 noon and 9pm).
Equipment Options:
Climbing Shoes -
We have a range of brands, including premium models such as Five Ten Anasazi Velcro's® . Models will depend on the size required.
Helmets -
We predominantly have Edelrid 'Ultralight' Helmets (around 30 of them) and a few Petzl 'ECRIN ROC' helmets.
Walking Axes -
We have some Stubai Mt. Star 65cm Axes.
Technical Axes -
We have Stubai Sierra Extreme and Grivel axes.
Crampons -
We have Grivel and Black Diamond models available.

Hire Terms and Conditions:
- Appropriate bond MUST be left on all hires.
- All equipment MUST be returned dry and clean.
- Any equipment returned dirty will incur a cleaning fee of $10.00 for each item.
- Any damaged equipment will be repaired or replaced at the customer's expense.
- Any extension of hire duration MUST be phoned through and authorised prior to initial hire period expiry.
- Customers must follow all manufacturers instructions when using any piece of climbing equipment.
- Cliffhanger Climbing Gym takes NO responsibility for any injury that may occur during the use of any hire equipment. All equipment is used at customer's risk.
